Consider the new track by Perth garage wild dogs Thee Loose Hounds dropped.
Entitled “Scabs”, it’s the first track from an upcoming EP called Blood Sport and it’ll also feature on a 7” single, both to be released in time for some east coast touring engagements in November.
Recorded/mixed by Jozef Grech and mastered by Mikey Young, “Scabs” has got a bit of a surfy-beachy vibe – “Scabs” being a nickname for Scarborough, the closest beach to Perth.
“It’s always swarming with douchebags,” says Reuben Unkovich (guitar/keys/vocals), “And there’s a ‘beach club’ with no dress code and everyone drinks champagne and vodka Red Bulls from plastic cups in swimming pools and fights.
“A new venue opened up right next to said beach club and the song is about how scary it was to go down there and play. Turns out it’s not such a bad place to play. We’re gonna be back there next week, actually. But it still scares me.”
